Leading physical asset management company Pragma has joined forces with Exxaro for the bike wash and park during the 2014 Absa Cape Epic which is taking place from March 23 to 30.

Chief Executive Officer of Pragma, Adriaan Scheeres, says: “Due to its success last year, Pragma is once again joining forces with the Exxaro Academy to ensure an efficient bike wash at this prestigious event. Due to the nature of our labour intensive service, we need 30 crew members to execute a proper and smooth-running ‘production line’.
“Our crew team consists of 30 members of which 20 are Pragma employees and a further ten members represent the Exxaro Academy team. Pragma provides the crew passes and transport and Exxaro takes responsibility for transport to and from Cape Town. This works brilliantly as both companies benefit.”
Adds Sipho Nkosi, Exxaro’s CEO: “We’re delighted to contribute to the life experiences of these youngsters and give them an opportunity that would otherwise not have been possible. These ten Academy riders just didn’t qualify to participate in the event this year.
“By being part of the bike washing crew, they not only get to experience the event and vibe from behind the scenes, but are also able to support their fellow Exxaro team members who are participating.”
Scheeres explains the Pragma services at the Absa Cape Epic: “After a rider crosses the finish line of any stage at the event, a crew member takes the bike from the rider so that the participant can go directly to the food zone for some much needed nutrition before retiring for the rest of the day.”
