Fresh from his KOM conquest at Prix de la Ville de Mont Pujols last Monday, Dylan Girdlestone has made his mark in the European Club circles by claiming victory in Sunday’s 144km Grand Premi Odena in Spain, only his third race in Europe this season.
Bonitas Pro Cycling team mate, Jayde Julius, was in the early move of the day which saw him in a group with 11 other riders.
Girdlestone bridged the gap with two more riders, making 15 riders with an advantage.
Attacking in the front group began, with Julius and three more going clear. Later Girdlestone bridged again, and attacked from that group with 12km to go, and soloing to the finish to take his first win of the season.
Julius took second place and won the U23 category, with Martigues team mate, Gras finishing fifth, just over two minutes behind.
