Ariane Kleinhans claimed victory at the Grand Raid Marathon on Saturday in a time of 7 hours, 49 minutes and 55 seconds.
Her time was over 20 minutes ahead of second placed Sabine Sommer.
Kleinhans dominated the 125km marathon from start to finish on a course that included over 5 000m of vertical ascent, more than one third of the total ascent of the Absa Cape Epic.
At the moment she is gearing up for the Swiss Epic next month, and Cape Pioneer in October, which she will race with this year’s World Marathon Champion, Annika Langvad.
