The Cape Town Cycle Tour organisers will make another 3 000 entries available to local riders wanting to participate in next year’s event.
The available entries were snapped up in only eight hours which left many local would-be entrants disappointed.
“We have decided to reallocate some entries which had been reserved for various groups and international participants. By doing this we will be making an additional 3 000 individual entries available to local riders,” said David Bellairs, a director of the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust.
These additional 3 000 entries will be assigned through a “random selection” process.
“Riders wishing to secure an entry will be given a week to register their interest on our website. The available entries will then be allocated to individuals on a ‘ballot-style’ basis, after which fees will become payable,” said Bellairs.
