Ireland’s Dan Martin, of Team Garmin-Sharp, won the Giro di Lombardia with a breakaway in the final kilometer in Bergamo, Italy, on Sunday.
Martin beat Spain’s Alejandro Valverde (Movistar) and Portugal’s former world champion Rui Costa in the 254km race from Como.
It was Martin’s second Classics victory, after also taking the honours in Liege-Bastogne-Liege in 2013.
Belgium’s Tim Wellens (Lotto) was fourth, after igniting the race on the final climb.
