Team RECM’s Cherise Stander and teammate Candice Neethling from BMC Velolife claimed victory at the Isuzu 3 Towers stage race at Mankele yesterday.

Stander was not able to pair up with Ariane Kleinhans as she is still in Switzerland.
The pair already built up a substantial lead on the first stage but unfortunately lost some time with a mechanical and ended the day 30 minutes down on the winners. They made up some time on the second day and slotted themselves into third place overall.
Stander and Neethling rode their hearts out on the fast and intense final 45km stage and eventually won by seven minutes and took the overall victory by one minute and twenty seconds.
They were followed by Garmin’s Yolandi du Toit and Team Valencia’s Samantha Saunders while Vera Adrian and Irene Steyn came in third.
On the men’s side, Scott Factory Racing’s Phillip Buys and Matthys Beukes claimed victory in the second and last stages to take the overall classification.
