A number of temporary road closures will be implemented for the 38th Cape Town Cycle Tour #Showyoucaresolidarityride created in the wake of the fires that have been plaguing Cape Town and the surrounds on Sunday, March 8.
The solidarity ride will see cyclists line up to participate in the 47km circular route from the tour’s normal start at the Civic Centre to the end of the M3 and back to a slightly altered finish in Green Point.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust urges all participants and spectators to make use of the available public transport options to avoid delays.
Parking at the start and finish areas, as well as access to various parts of the route, is extremely limited over the event weekend.
Riders are encouraged to visit the Metrorail website and the MyCiTi website for details on the available public transport options and schedules for this year’s Cape Town Cycle Tour.
All residents in the areas affected by road closures are urged to make use of alternative side streets and designated parking areas on the weekend of the event.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust appeals to all residents in Green Point not to park along the main road on race day.
