Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung’s Reinardt Janse van Rensburg took home the silver medal, while his teammate Louis Meintjies snatched the bronze at the South African Time Trial Championships in Mbombela this morning.

“Maybe I started out a little bit too fast because it really started to hurt near the end but I’m satisfied with the result,” said Janse van Rensburg.
The team’s Jay Thompson claimed fourth place.
Defending champion Orica-Greenedge’s Daryl Impey was successfully able to defend his title from last year, clocking the fastest time of 53’23” on the day.
The cool early morning conditions made for super-fast times, with Impey able to average 48km/h for the 42.7km course.
Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung’s will defend their title over the 180km parcours at Saturday’s road race.
