Christoph Sauser secured his fifth Cape Epic title with teammate Jaroslav Kulhavy when the Investec Songo Specialized pair came in fifth during the final stage of the 2015 Absa Cape Epic at Meerendal Wine Estate today.
Today’s 92km seventh stage was won by Meerendal Centurion Vaude’s Jochen Kaess and Daniel Gelsmayr, a mere five seconds ahead of Jose Hermida and Rudi van Houts of Multivan Merida.
In the women’s race, RECM Specialized’s Ariane Kleinhans and Annika Langvad won the 2015 Cape Epic title and the final stage after dominating the Sasol jersey competition throughout this year’s race.
RECM’s Erik Kleinhans and Nico Bell were the first South African team to finish but it was not enough to secure the African jersey from Phillip Buys and Matthys Beukes (Scott Factory Racing) in the general classification.
