The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust has announced that the 39th Cape Town Cycle Tour will take place a week earlier in 2016 on Sunday, March 6, following a request by the City of Cape Town to accommodate numerous events taking place in the area at the time.
“The Cape Town Stadium has already been booked for a major international show on the same weekend as the Cycle Tour,” said David Bellairs, one of the Trust’s directors.
The Cape Town Cycle Tour will return to its regular format after this year’s Show you Care Solidarity Ride with thousands of local and international cyclists expected to line up on Hertzog Boulevard next year.
“Entries to the 2015 Tour sold out in a record eight hours and we anticipate high interest in the 2016 event,” said Bellairs.
Entries to the 2016 Cape Town Cycle Tour are scheduled to open in early-September.
