Scott Factory Racing powered by LCB’s Matthys Beukes claimed victory in the second round of the 2015 Stihl SA MTB Cup XCO at the Voortrekker Monument in Gauteng on Saturday March, 28.

“It really was a great track to ride – especially after ‘Epic. The track was very rocky, not too many climbs, and a lot of open areas,” he said.
RECM’s James Reid took second place (RECM), and while Beukes’ teammate Philip Buys rounded off the top three in third.
Beukes and his team head off to Germany and Czech Republic for the World Cups at the end of May 2015.
Beukes and Strauss are set to compete in XCO race at Cascades MTB Park in Pietermaritzburg as part of the Pietermaritzburg MTB Festival on April 4.
Despite a flat tire on the course, OMX Pro-team rider Mariske Strauss claimed the number one spot in the Women’s Elite category ahead of Bianca Haw in second and teammate Isla Short in third.
Junior World Champion Simon Andreassen took first place in the Junior Men’s category followed by Namibian Tristan de Lange and South African Julian Jessop respectively.
The Junior Women’s race saw Genevieve van Coller claim victory in the Junior Women’s race ahead of Frances du Toit in second and Lynette Benson claiming the last podium spot in third.
The third round of the 2015 Stihl SA MTB XCO Series takes place at Mankele MTB Park in Mpumalanga on Saturday, April 25.
