Jarryd Hayley and Chris Wolhunter of Altech Autopage Pro Cycling won the first stage of the inaugural Cape Winelands MTB Encounter in Franschhoek today.

The Altech Autopage Pro Cycling duo steadily built up their lead to finish 20 minutes ahead of second placed Eben Espach and Linus Van Onselen of Flandria Grand Masters.
Rikus Visser and Nadia Visser of SDK Legends rounds off the podium in third.
Pretoria Box U23’s Mitchell Eliot and Neil Robinson were trailing the leaders by one minute at Waterpoint one but experienced mechanical issues with a tyre and completed the first stage 17th overall.
The first stage started at the historic Lanzerac Hotel in Stellenbosch and featured a 67km route with a 1 700m ascent.

6. Vuilcoke Kartel: Jan Solms & Michael Solms – 3:51:56
7. Team ASG: Martin McGarrigle & Bruce Foulis – 3:53:35
8. Liberty Team 3: Sandra Haywood & Everett Haywood – 3:54:16
9. 2 Enjoy: Serge Foulon & Michel de Clippel – 4:03:47
10. Venn Sure: Bernard de Witt & Jason Venn – 4:04:27
