Cervélo has appointed South African-based bicycle distributor Two Wheels Trading as official agent for its Southern African territories.

The announcement comes on the back of Cervélo’s new sponsorship of the MTN-Qhubeka Pro Continental road cycling team, which makes its Tour de France debut in July.
Known for building some of the lightest high-performance bicycles in the world, Cervélo engineers bicycles for road, triathlon and track cycling.
Cervélo managing director Robert Reijers said South Africa was a growing performance bicycle market.
“With Frederik van Lierde winning Ironman South Africa this year on a Cervélo and our partnership with the MTN Qhubeka pro cycling team, we believe Cervélo can become a much more prominent brand in the country.”
According to MTN-Qhubeka team principal Douglas Ryder, Cervélo’s technology has helped his team achieve success this season.
“We look forward to taking the S5 and P5 models, as they suit our style of aggressive racing, through the 2015 Tour de France as we become Africa’s first ever registered team in this gruelling event.”
