All Pedal Power Association events with a racing component, including the Cape Town Cycle Tour, will in future be sanctioned by Cycling South Africa.
CSA announced the decision following successful negotiations with PPA and the Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust.
Officials have confirmed that cyclists with CSA racing licences or membership will be allowed to participate in all events on the PPA funride calendar including the Cycle Tour, Coronation Double Century and various league races.
In addition, all funrides on the PPA calendar will not need to apply to be sanctioned.
The agreement has been implemented with immediate effect and will be valid for an initial period of five years.
“This agreement further cements our good relationship and provides certainty among our members regarding participation in PPA events,” said CSA president William Newman.
PPA chairman Steve Hayward expressed his delight, saying his association looked forward to growing the sport at all levels.
