Team Sky cyclist Kanstantsin Siutsou will be wearing the Team Dimension Data colours when he gets on his bike next season.
Africa’s only Pro-Continental team MTN-Qhubeka, which will be known as Team Dimension Data from 2016, announced the signing of the 33-year-old Belarusian yesterday. He is expected to be the last new addition to the African team ahead of the coming season.
“I’m really happy to join Team Dimension Data in 2016. Having raced with some of the riders in the past, I’m sure we’ll gel well together,” said Siutsou.
“I’m also looking forward to sharing my experience with the African talents on board and to make an impact for the Qhubeka charity. It’s a great opportunity to race for a bigger cause and I’m glad to take it on.”
Siutsou has spent the last four seasons racing for the British-based team, and with 14 grand tours under his belt, including a ninth place overall in the 2011 Giro d’ Italia, he brings a wealth of experience to his new outfit.
More recently he also racked up a hat-trick at the Belarusian Time-Trial Championship, winning it for the third consecutive year in 2014.
He joins a host of new signing to Africa’s Team for the 2016 season. Earlier this week the team announced that Australian Cameron Meyer, 27, would also be flying their flag. This comes after fellow Australians Nathan Haas, 26, and Mark Renshaw, 32, along with Spaniard Omar Fraile, 25, Austrian Bernhard Eisel, 34, and Manx former world champion Mark Cavendish, 30, signed with them.
