Africa’s Team, which will be known as Team Dimension Data next season, has renewed Rwandan cyclist Adrien Niyonshuti’s contract for an eighth consecutive season.
With the possibility of the team gaining WorldTour status, Niyonshuti will be hoping to line up for his first grand tour in 2016.
“Being the first Rwandan to race at that level is a goal I had always looked forward to,” he said.
“I have spent some good time home in Rwanda and with my cycling academy and they give me much motivation for the new season.”
Niyonshuti said new teammates like Mark Cavendish would help take the team to the next level.
“I am happy that this can also help me to take the next step in my career.”
He previously represented his country at the 2012 London Olympics.
