Clint Hendricks of RoadCover won the 39th Cape Town Cycle Tour that finished in Green Point today.
Jayde Julius finished second with two-time defending champion Nolan Hoffman of Team Telkom completing the podium of the 109km race.
Dimension Data’s Keagan Girdlestone, who finished second overall in the Bestmed Tour of Good Hope that finished on Friday, went clear over the final climb of Suikerbossie and built up a lead of around 15 second over the first chasing group of 15 riders.
He was joined by Dimension Data’s for Qhubeka’s Songezo Jim and ProTouch’s JC Nel with about five kilometres remaining.
Girdlestone attacked again to go clear with about three kilometres to go, but was brought back within sight of the line.
South African champion An-Li Kachelhoffer of Lotto-Soudal won the women’s race ahead of Lynette Burger (Demacon) and Namibia’s African champion Vera Adrian (Time Freight).
