The entry cap for the 2017 Bestmed Tour of Good Hope, taking place from March 6 to 10, has increased to 750 riders.
The initially allotted entry total of 500 riders has been reached, but after extensive consultation with traffic police, local municipalities, venues and other important stake-holders, the decision has been made to increase it.
The qualifying criteria have been relaxed to 3:30 and the minimum distance requirement is now 94km for men and women.
The qualifying criteria are in place to ensure riders are well prepared and understand the challenging nature of a five-day road stage race before they commit to enter.
To cater for mountain bikers, official finishers in the Cape Epic, Sani2C, Joberg2C, Wines2Whales and the Encounter series will be allowed to enter.
