Entries for the 2017 TransCape, taking place from February 5 to 11 in the Western Cape, will close on November 23.
This iconic event links Knysna to Franschhoek in an epic seven-day stage race, stopping over in Wilderness, Van Wyksdorp, Riversdal, Swellendam, Greyton and Villiersdorp.
The race was presented for the first time in 2014 and attracted 40 riders. Last year, with a significantly more difficult route, it hosted 80 riders.
So far 120 riders have signed up for the 2017 edition, which serves up a more manageable route than last year.
The route changes will balance the overall challenge to bring it in line with the event owners’ vision for TransCape – to offer riders a memorable challenge, but not to benchmark it on the difficulty of the Cape Epic.
