Willie Smit finished fourth in the Elite men’s race and Carla Oberholzer came sixth in the Elite women’s contest.
De Bod, the U23 national time-trial champion, came home 26 seconds behind Elite winner Teshome Meron (Eritrea), who claimed the gold medal in a time of 53 minutes 16 seconds over the 43km course.
