He was followed home by RoadCover’s Willie Smit and team-mate Ryan Gibbons.
Stefan de Bod, from the Dimension Data Continental team, won the U23 title for the second year in a row after winning the time-trial title earlier this week.
Janse van Rensburg found himself in a two-man break with De Bod in the closing stages after they had rid themselves of Smit. Van Rensburg eased over the line ahead of De Bod to ensure that the elite national champion’s jersey will be on the back of a rider in the Pro Tour team.
Jason Oosthuizen won the U19 men’s race with Devin Shortt and Ryan Terry completing the podium.
Yesterday’s elite women’s race over 128.7km was won by Demacon’s Heidi Dalton in 3:53:37. Bestmed-ASG’s defending champion An-Li Kachelhoffer collected the silver medal in 3:57:15 with Bigla’s Ashleigh Moolman Pasio in 3:57:16.
The U19 women’s race was won by Ashleigh Parsons in 2:34:17. Tiffany Keep was runner-up in 2:34:18 with Elne Owen completing the podium in 2:34:18.
