In a statement released today, organisers of the Cape Epic announced the winners of their #Conquerasone competitions.
The event hosted two separate #Conquerasone inspired competitions – the first competition was a pre-race competition and the second was hosted during the eight-day race.
The premise of the second competition was to celebrate and recognise the spirit of teamwork and perseverance at the race.
On each day of the race, one team embodying human spirit in overcoming the challenges posed to them were recognised and rewarded.

After eight pairs were chosen throughout the event, the overall #Conquerasone moment was awarded to Bruce Campbell and Anthony Daniels.
Making his debut at the Epic, Campbell beat the odds and, in a show of sheer determination, overcame the extreme pain associated with his rare neuromuscular disease – Pompe disease.
The pair started training about six months before the race, even though Campbell experienced great pain throughout his pre-race training he refused to give up, showcasing the same determination that saw him conquer the Cape Epic.
Justin Jeffery won the first competition in which riders were encouraged to share inspirational stories of adversity whether on a bike or in their personal lives.
As a biokineticist, Jeffery has worked to help rehabilitate people who have brain and spinal cord injuries.
Over the years he has participated in a number of races, which he does on a tandem to provide people with various disabilities an opportunity to experience the race.
As part of the final step of the #Conquerasone competition the two winners would go up against each other in a public vote.
Over 6 500 votes were cast and it was announced that Jeffery and his partner, Bevan Jeffery, narrowly beat Campbell and Daniels by two per cent.
As the result was so close, organisers decided to award both teams complimentary team entries for 2018.
