The American pro completed the 150.2km stage from Bern in 3:48:55 to beat Italy’s Damiano Caruso and Netherlands’ Steven Kruijswijk.
Caruso leads the general classification with a total time of 12:08:35. Kruijswijk follows 15 seconds behind the leader with Domenico Pozzovivo lying in third and 24 seconds behind Caruso.
