The 1000 Miler is nearing the end for the leaders as they approach the finish in Cape Town on day six of the event.
Sarah van Heerden and Cindy Theunissen, who have led from the start, were roughly 60km from the finish (at 2.30pm) while Dawn Bell and her husband, Dave, were some way behind.
Many of the riders have passed through dead zones so it is known as to how far they have to go.
