South Africa’s Willie Smit rode in to the overall lead after finishing third on day two of the Tour of Ethiopia in Wolayita Sodo today.

The RoadCover allrounder finished the 90km stage 11 seconds behind winner Fiseha Gebremariam (Ethiopia), who clocked 2:04:21. Gebremariam’s compatriot Tedros Redae took second.
Smit leads the standings on 5:00:51, one second ahead of Ethiopia’s Kbrom Haylay and 11 in front of Algeria’s Abderrahmane Mansouri.
