Team Pyga-Euro Steel’s Matthys Beukes and Philip Buys dominated the second day of the sixth round of the National MTB Series when they secured the first two spots in Dullstroom, Mpumalanga, today.

Beukes finished the 51km marathon in 1:55:48 ahead of Buys (1:55:53) and NAD Pro’s Nico Bell (1:56:49).
Samantha Sanders of Team Valencia won the women’s race in 2:15:08 to beat dormakaba’s Candice Lill (2:15:09) and Team Garmin MTB’s Yolandi du Toit (2:23:30).
The overall title went to Buys with a time of 4:47:47, followed by Bell (4:48:38) and stage one winner Gert Heyns of Ascendis Health (4:49:59).
Lill took the overall victory for the women in 5:32:10. Second and third went to Sanders (5:35:43) and Du Toit (5:46:10).
