Results for the final round of the Big 5 Series, which concluded with the Monzi Hippo MTB Race near St Lucia in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday, can be found below:
Christian van Dyk and Hayley Smith won their respective categories in the 50km race. The men’s competition was a close fought battle, with Van Dyk beating Sean Merredew and Andrew Johnson by one and two seconds respectively.
Equally exciting, if not as close, was the women’s race, where Desiree Chantal Verwe and Sandra Haywood finished second and third.
