Solo rider Nico Phitzenmaaier won the short, yet technical 6km prologue of the U MTB Stage Race, which took place in Velddrif in the Western Cape today.
Rickus Jooste and Johan Stephan (Spuds on the Run) were the first men’s team to complete the course, with Ingrid Peens and Megan Skowno (The Mountain Unicorns) the women’s winners and Anton Moolman and Adrienne Moolman (Rotsvas) champions of the mixed category. Linda Hitchings was the first solo woman to cross the line.
