Wines2Whales Race: See the top photos

The top photos of Wines2Whales Race, a three-stage mountain bike event in the Somerset West, Elgin and Hermanus regions, can be seen below.

Day one

The first day of the Wines2Whales Race consisted of a 68km ride from Lourensford Wine Estate to Oak Valley Wine Estate. Investec-Songo.info’s Konny Looser and Christoph Sauser took the stage win,  followed closely by PYGA EuroSteel’s Matthys Beukes and Philip Buys. NAD Pro’s Gawie Combrinck and Nico Bell completed the podium. Meerendal CBC’s Jennie Stenerhag and Adelheid Morath won the women’s race.

Day two

The 71km stage two from Oak Valley Wine Estate saw PYGA Euro Steel’s Matthys Beukes and Philip Buys take the stage win with the Valencia ladies Samantha Sanders and Amy McDougall claiming the victory in the women’s race. Martin Dreyer and Jeannie Dreyer of Merchants won the mixed category.

Day three

Day three of the Wines2Whales Race saw Philip Buys and and Matthys Beukes take advantage of every one of the 71km as they won the stage and overall title. Investec-Songo.info’s Konny Looser and Christoph Sauser finished second overall, followed by NAD Pro’s Gawie Combrinck and Nico Bell. dormakaba’s Candice Lill and Vera Adrian secured their first stage victory, but it was Meerendal CBC’s Jennie Stenerhag and Adelheid Morath that claimed the overall women’s title.
