Vital Concept Cycling’s Julien Morice won the 10.2km first stage time trial of the Sharjah Tour in the United Arab Emirates today.
The Frenchman completed the time trial in 12:48.60, finishing faster than Sovac-Natura4ever’s Gaetan Bille (Belgium) and teammate Kris Boeckmans (Belgium).

Eddie van Heerden, who surprised many with a podium-spot finish at the 947 Cycle Challenge two months ago, was the fastest South African rider to complete the time trial.
Van Heerden was the 21st quickest rider overall to finish the route, beating his teammates Ryan Harris (25th) and Bradley Potgieter (26th).
