Investec-Songo-Specialized’s Jaroslav Kulhavy and Howard Grotts won the 76km sixth stage of the Cape Epic, which took place in and around Wellington, Western Cape, today.
The pair won the stage in 3:09:08, beating Trek Selle San Marco’s Fabian Rabensteiner and Michele Casagrande and Cannondale Factory Racing’s Manuel Fumic and Henrique Avancini into second and third respectively.

The Investec-Songo-Specialized pair extended their lead on the general classification ahead of the seventh and final stage tomorrow. They have created an eight-and-a-half minute buffer over the second-placed Fumic and Avancini.
South Africa’s NAD Pro pair Nico Bell and Matt Beers finished in the top 10, placing sixth in today’s stage. They were, however, unable to take the African’s jersey away from PYGA Euro-Steel’s Matthys Beukes and Julian Jessop, who finished 12th today.
Investec-Songo-Specialized’s Annika Langvad and Kate Courtney won the women’s race in 3:46:34 – their seventh victory in seven days at the eight-day race. The pair added to their solid lead ahead of the final stage tomorrow.
Ascendis Health’s Sabine Spitz and Robyn de Groot finished in second, with PMRA/CST Racing Margot Moschetti and Ralza Goulao rounding out the podium.
South Africa’s dormakaba pair of Candice Lill and Amy McDougall finished in fourth to tighten their hold on the women’s African jersey.
