Team Sky’s Wout Poels won the 18.5km time-trial in stage four of the Paris-Nice, which finished in Saint-Étienne today.
The Dutchman finished the route with a faster time than Movistar Team’s Marc Soler (Spain) and Quick-Step Floors’ Julian Alaphilippe (France), who came second and third respectively.

Although winning, Poels admitted the time-trial was tough. “It was quite a hard one, especially at the beginning with the uphill and then at the end with that little short kick.
“It was a really hard TT but it was really good for me.”
Astana Pro’s Luis León Sanchez still retains the yellow jersey, with Poels moving up to second on the general classification.
