South Africa finished sixth in the women’s 4 000-metre team pursuit qualifier of the Commonwealth Games, which took place in the Anna Meares Velodrome, Gold Coast, today.
South Africa completed the 16-lap circuit in a new national record with a time of 4:51.22.

Australia won the qualifier, setting a new Commonwealth record in 4:17.22. They beat New Zealand and Canada into second and third respectively.
