Astana Pro’s Omar Fraile won the 166.6km first stage of the Tour de Romandie, which finished in Delemont, Switzerland, today.
The Spaniard completed the stage in 4:03:42, beating Bahrain-Merida’s Sonny Colbrelli (Italy) and UAE Team Emirates’ Rui Costa (Portugal) in a bunch sprint.

DiData’s Merhawi Kudus (Eritria) finished the stage in ninth and is 50th on the general classification standings.
LottoNL-Jumbo’s Primoz Roglic (Slovakia) took the race lead ahead of the second stage tomorrow. BMC Racing’s Rohan Dennis (Australia) currently stands in second, with Team Sky’s Geraint Thomas (Britain) in third.
