ProTouch’s Gustav Basson won the 100km Tour Durban, which finished at the Moses Mabhida Stadium today.
Basson completed the race in 2:13:52, beating Barzani’s Jason Oosthuizen and BCX’s Nolan Hoffman into second and third respectively.
Basson, who also just claimed the Tour de Limpopo title this week, came out on top in a five-man break consisting of BCX’s David Maree and Marc Pritzen, Vander Group’s Bradley Potgieter and Oosthuizen.

Hoffman and Barzani’s Tyler Day joined the front mix in the closing stages of the race to finish near the top, with Oosthuuizen crossing the line in second behind fellow escapee Basson.
Demacon’s Kim le Court won the women’s race in 2:44:12, beating Silverback’s Tiffany Keep narrowly into second. Le Court’s teammate Lynette Burger rounded out the podium a further 17 seconds back.
