Groupama-FDJ’s Thibaut Pinot claimed overall victory of the Tour of the Alps after the fifth and final concluded in Italy yesterday.
The Frenchman finished the tour with a final time of 18:28:48, finishing ahead of Bahrain-Merida’s Domenico Pozzovivo (Italy) and Astana Pro Team’s Miguel Angel Lopez (Colombia).

Bahrain-Merida’s Mark Padun (Ukraine) won the final stage in 4:16:10, beating LottoNL-Jumbo’s George Bennet (New Zealand) and Astana Pro Team’s Jan Hirt (Czech) into second and third respectively.
South African Louis Meintjies, riding for DiData, finished the tour in 20th on the general classification.
