Australian Rohan Dennis rode a perfect race against the clock to win stage 16 of Giro d’Italia in Rovereto today.
The BMC time-trial specialist completed the 34.2km race from Trento in 40:00. Second and 14 seconds later was Germany’s Tony Martin (Katusha-Alpecin) with defending champion Tom Dumoulin (Sunweb) in third and 22 seconds behind.

Britain’s Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) still holds the pink jersey in 65:57:37, followed by Dutchman Dumoulin at 0:56 and
Italian Domenico Pozzovivo (Bahrain-Merida) at 3:11.
