ASG Factory Racing’s Rossouw Bekker and Johann Trotzky claimed the honours in stage one of the Gravel & Grape Extreme 2-day mountain-bike race at Goudini Spa in Rawsonville, Western Cape, today.
They finished the 68km men’s event in 2:46:36 ahead of Fritz Warnich and Jan du Toit Hugo (Last year’s winners), who completed the race in 3:21:49. Fietie Rocher and Kobus Drotschie (Smokkel & Smous) rounded out the podium, coming in in 3:42:01.

The women’s event was won by Dragonflyers’ Elishia Drotschie and Hermien Kruger in 4:37:26.
Stofberg’s Marie and Nico Stofberg won the stage in the mixed category after they finished in 3:54:47 to beat Rocky Trek’s Sune Henning and Werner Hattingh (4:03:34).
