Marthinus Steyn and Thys Blom claimed victory on the opening stage of the sani2c Adventure in Himeville, KwaZulu-Natal, today.
The Credo wealth riders completed the 82km route in a time of 3:11:10. Second over the line were ASOW Racing’s John Daniel Carleton and Mitchell Ginsberg, who finished in 3:12:16. Caffee Mobile’s Carl Adendorff and Leeroy Emslie took third place in 3:13:26.

The women’s race was won by Oakley Group’s Janine Muller and Mari du Toit, who finished in 4:07:57. Dim sum lose sum’s Bessa Odendaal and Shannon Carleton were second in 4:13:59. Third place went to Elixir’s Megan Simpson and Kim Murray, who claimed a time of 4:29:28.
Talbot Mix’s Tersia and Bruce Talbot won the mixed team race in a time of 3:45:32. Natasha and Wynand van der Berg finished second in 3:51:18, while Plum Pudding’s James and Laurin Little placed third in 3:54:30.
The solo men’s race was won by James Felgate in 3:52:30, with dully dashers’ Salomon Watts second in 3:54:28 and SG006’s Derrick Scharnick third in 4:02:36.
