Race director Darren Herbst said the race would offer a “different” experience.
“Mountain-bikers do not want to fork out thousands of rands for the same experience anymore,” Herbst said.
“Participants at The Rock will be the main focal point. The event will tick off all the boxes that are vitally important to riders, while cutting out the rest to ensure affordability.
“There will not be any frills or fuss, just great trails, tough racing and wonderful camaraderie – all without a hefty price tag.”
The entry fee for the three-day race will be R1 200 per rider.
