Steven Shirley and Yolande de Villiers won the 160km feature of the Trans Elands MTB Marathon, which started and finished at the The Ferry Hotel, by the Gamtoos River in Eastern Cape, yesterday.
Shirley completed the race in 6:25:43, beating Jason Peach by just less than seven minutes. Jason Meaton completed the podium.

Having finished third overall, De Villiers won the women’s race in 6:32:34, just three seconds behind the second-placed Peach. Tracey Campbell finished second, with Liza Mason third.
Charl du Plooy (2:20:52) and Andrea Shirley (2:35:22) won the men’s and women’s 60km race respectively.
