Bradley Potgieter and Bernice van Wyk won the 40km race on day one of the Sondela MTB Classic at the Sondela Nature Reserve in Bela-Bela today.
Potgieter finished in a time of 1:22:39 and was followed home by John-William Lang and Dean Engelbrecht, who finished in 1:22:58 and 1:23:21 respectively.

Fourth place went to Sean Wagner after 1:24:19, with Wessel Redelinghuys in fifth after 1:24:21.
Van Wyk won the women’s race in a time of 1:32:13. Simone van Wyk placed second in 1:32:20, with Faye Darby third in 1:35:19.
Annelie Cronje claimed fourth place with a time of 1:38:46, while Elmarie Maur finished fifth in 1:39:10.
