Nohan van Tonder won the men’s feature race at the Nkomazi MTB Challenge in Malelane, Mpumalanga, on Saturday.

He completed the 65km course in 2:27:39, beating Christo Carelsen (2:34:56) and Heine Engelbrecht (2:34:57).
Claudia Slattery took the honours in the women’s race when she finished in 3:11:56. She was followed home by Neline Hoffman Kellerman (3:11:59) and Heila Meintjies (3:20:45).
The 35km men’s title went to Kimhan van der Merwe (1:14:42) with Emile Fourie (1:14:43) and Rikus Booyens (1:16:38) taking second and third respectively.
Hijke Coetzee (1:23:33) was crowned the women’s winner. Juanita Kammeyer (1:29:15) came second, followed by Suzanne Mare (1:31:03).
Jean Coetzee led the 19km men’s event home in 45:59. Second was Lohan Pelser (46:01) with Nico Potgieter (46:05) rounding out the podium.
The women’s event was won by Megan Botha (50:10) ahead of Zuna-Mae Lottering (1:00:27) and Theane Pelser (1:01:33).
