South Africa’s Pieter du Preez finish in second in the men’s H1 road race at the Para-cycling Road World Championships in Maniago, Italy, today.
Du Preez completed the course, which consisted of three laps and 40.8km in total, in a time of 1:42:59.

The winner was Italy’s Fabrizio Cornegliani, who finished in 1:41:10. Third place went to Finland’s Harri Sopanen in 1:46:22.
Czech Republic’s Patrik Jahoda placed fourth, with Austria’s Ernst Bachmaier in fifth.
