The team, which comprises Nico Pfitzenmaier and renowned women cyclists Amy McDougall and Samantha Sanders, will benefit from Posthumus’ wealth of experience both physiologically and on the bike, managing director of dormakaba SA Shaun Frayne said.
“As a professional coach and sports scientist, Mike brings with him much knowledge and insight into elements like training periodisation and other critical training principles that will be invaluable to our team,” he said.
“Mike is also a semi-pro mountain biker and will also represent us in the senior men’s category.
“Training for cycling events requires dedication, while considering and ensuring adequate recoveries in-between sessions.
“Mike will be offering this help not only to our pro riders, but to everyone following the dormakaba channels.”
