South Africa’s Calvin Beneke claimed the third spot on stage three of the Tour du Rwanda in Musanze yesterday.
Beneke crossed the line in a time of 5:11:12, after starting the 195.3km course in Huye. His placing moved him into seventh on the general classification.

The stage was won by Germany’s Julian Hellmann, who crossed the line after 5:11:04, while Spain’s David Lozano Riba claimed second.
Rwanda’s Samuel Mugisha retained his overall lead, with fellow countryman Jean Claude Uwizeye in second and Ethiopia’s Mulu Hailemichael in third.
