PYGA Euro Steel’s Matthys Beukes won the first Trailseeker race of the Western Cape series in Wellington today.
He completed the 70km marathon course in a time of 2:53:03, beating Philip Buys and Nicol Carstens to the line.

Fourth place went to Charles Mcfall, while Luke Evans finished in fifth.
Janice Venter won the women’s race in a time of 3:42:05. Lehane Oosthuizen claimed second, while Amy Tait came in third.
Leon Claasen won the 40km half-marathon, with Johan van Zyl in second and W.G. van der Walt in third.
The women’s race was won by Stèfke Tolmay, with Robyn Williams in second and Caela Whall third.
