Rynardt Jacobs and Shauna Esmeyer won the 62km feature of the Jakhals MTB Challenge in George, Western Cape, yesterday.
Jacobs completed the race in 2:23:19, beating Aidan Connelly into second by less than a minute. Vickus Boshoff completed the podium another 10 minutes later.

Esmeyer won the women’s race in 3:05:10. Jessica Joseph and Mare Gardiner made up the rest of the podium.
Leon Claasen (1:30:36) and Lize Erasmus (2:17:29) won the respective men’s and women’s 43km race.
