Frans Grotepass took the victory on stage two of the Namaqua Quest MTB Stage Race in Nababeep, Northern Cape, today.
He completed the 55km in 2:09:19 to beat Fourie Kotze (2:09:20) and Piet Swiegers (2:09:21).

Halcyone Muller (2:30:35) finished first in the women’s event ahead of Vivienne Turvey (2:38:49) and Jeanette Treherne (2:38:50).
Adrian Steyn (1:25:04) took the honours in the 35km men’s lite event and was followed by Gerrit Junior van Wyk (1:30:15). Third was Malcolm Mostert in 1:42:31.
Magret van der Merwe won the women’s race in 1:49:09, beating Wilmari Strachan (1:52:07) and Nadia van Staden (1:57:02).
