Paul Essakow and Gizelda Strauss won the respective men’s and women’s events at the Sondela MTB Race in Bela-Bela today.
Essakow completed the 45km race in a time of 1:34:27. Fanie Stofberg was second across the line, with Ruan van Zul completing the podium.

Strauss won her race in 1:46:54, beating Salome Jordaan and Sonja de Klerk into second and third respectively.
Dries van Tonder won the 20km men’s race, while Alta Smit won the women’s version.
